   Supervision

Counselling and Pastoral Supervision

My initial training in Supervision was with the Inskipp and Proctor approach.  The overarching theme is one of 'Normative', 'Formative' and Restorative' - taking a 'helicopter' perspective on the life and work of my supervisees. I work with various issues - such as, overall wellbeing, psychological education, boundaries and offer a reservoir of professional experience from my own years working as a Therapist.

I also offer Pastoral Supervision for those in church and ministry roles, in particular people in Leadership positions with substantial pastoral responsibility, both nationally and internationally.

Alongside this I provide supervision for individuals working within healthcare settings on a monthly basis to help process some of the inherent challenges in this field.

For both of the above, this is usually 1 to 1.5 hours per month via Zoom at a rate of £70 ph.

Spiritual Accompaniment/Direction

I have been interested in the area of Spiritual Direction for many years, in particular the differences between Counselling and Spiritual Direction and where there may sometimes be areas of cross over with both disciplines. The nature of these conversations inevitably leads to the question 'Where is God in this?', in particular though seasons of suffering. I'm somewhat reluctant to call myself a Spiritual Director and prefer the term Spiritual Accompaniment, whereby we have conversations together that matter and journey together into the mysterious work of Spiritual Formation. My initial training began in the United States with Dr Larry Crabb which was followed by 2 years with the Leeds Diocese in Spiritual Direction. Spiritual Accompaniment is offered on a monthly basis.
